fire energy,
‘tis explosive.
and mercurial though i may be,
one’s natural inclination is to
attempt to “put out” the fire
rather than tend to it,
stoke its flames, and learn to
incorporate other elements to soften it.

the fire within has manifested itself
in the form of
passion,
thought leadership,
dedication,
resilience,
strategic partnerships,
and the erection of boundaries.

i like to think i’m
a lot more spiritual than i actually am—
less machiavellian than i actually am—
but i am who i am.

and i have worked earnestly to call in
and to cultivate
other elements to soften
those edges.

to allow me to fully receive love
and lean into it with abandon,
but i am who i am.
